How the 2020-21 pandemic has impacted me personally
Before the pandemic, I was living my days as a photographer in Toronto. I had a studio in Liberty Village that had ample space for me to do all the things a photographer could dream of doing. I'll just leave that link there for you to get the full story;)
And on the side I was slinging sourdough bread. Yeah, that's right, sourdough! I was running workshops for people who wanted to learn how to make their own sourdough bread. This workshop started in my condo. I invited a few buddies over and taught them how to make sourdough bread, while eating fancy cheeses (always purchased at the Cheese Boutique) and drinking fine wines.
This then turned in to a somewhat catered affair when I started to charge my fellow condo dwellers a few bucks for attending my workshops. The fee at the time was minimal. Just enough to pay for the costs of flour, cheese and wine. This then grew to my hosting monthly workshops for 10 and sometimes 15 people in my condo. The attendees were equipped with all the necessary tools and ingredients that were required to make their own loaf of sourdough bread. They then were able to even bring that loaf of bread home with them.
Before I knew it, word got out and each and every sourdough workshop was sold out! I was charging upwards of $150 to attend. We even came up with a fancy title: Toronto Sourdough Workshop.
Then the pandemic hit - I enrolled in culinary school and the rest is history. This is my story and I'm sticking with it!
